Three etched bands wrap the 15 inch Aurum vase: leaf scales on the shoulder, wide leaf-and-paisley arches on the body, and a triangle border above a plain polished base. Every piece is etched by hand, so no two are exactly alike.
The body is iron, finished in a muted antique brass with darker etched recesses and sealed in matte lacquer. At 38 cm it makes a statement in a floor corner or beside the sofa. Stand it alone as a sculptural piece, or add flowers, dried stems or foliage.

Aurum has an iron body, which gives it a steady weight and a flat, stable base. The antique brass is a finish, not solid brass: a muted tone that settles darker into the etching, sealed in matte lacquer so it looks aged rather than shiny. Every band is etched by hand rather than machine-stamped, which is why small variations make each vase its own.
