The Aurum Hand-Etched Vase is a celebration of India's living craft tradition — two iconic forms in warm antique brass, entirely hand-engraved by artisans who have practiced this art for generations.

The 12 inch lota is wide and grounded — a squat, stable body with a short cylindrical neck, rooted in the timeless Indian lota form. The 15 inch surahi is tall and commanding — a gradual taper from a wide base to a long pronounced neck, the elegant bottle form that has been part of Indian craft heritage for centuries.

Both share the same four-band etching vocabulary: geometric cross-hatch at the neck, alternating triangles on the shoulder, large botanical mehrab arches filling the central body, and chevron borders at the lower body.

Style either size with dried pampas grass, eucalyptus or wild grasses for a layered editorial vignette, or display them empty and let the hand-etching do the talking. Buy both sizes together as a Set of 2 — the contrast between the squat lota and the tall surahi creates a naturally considered pair.

Every piece is individually hand-engraved — the slight variation in motif depth and character from piece to piece is not a flaw. It is the signature of a human hand, and what makes each Aurum vase a genuinely unique object.

  • Hand-etched by skilled artisans — four distinct etching bands, no two vases exactly alike
  • Antique brass with matte lacquer finish — warm golden-amber tone, no special care needed
  • 12 inch lota: 19×19×30cm · 0.983kg | 15 inch surahi: 20×20×38cm · 1.286kg
  • Standalone sculpture or floral vase — suits bohemian, eclectic and Indo-traditional interiors
  • Premium gift-ready packaging — branded white box, thank-you card, jute twine, dried botanical sprig

Care

Wipe with a clean dry cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to water or acidic liquids, which can etch the surface. For marble, a food-safe stone sealer applied once a year keeps the material looking its best. For brass, a light coat of mineral oil returns the warm lustre.

Shipping & Returns

All our pieces are held as ready stock — not made to order — so orders ship within 2-4 business days of purchase. Each piece is carefully packed and cushioned for transit. If something arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos and we'll arrange a replacement or refund. Once an item sells out, it's removed from sale until the next batch of stock arrives.

The Story

Every piece has a story.

Every piece begins as a question — what does this material want to become? Stone has grain, memory, weight. We don’t fight it. We find the form already inside it, then spend weeks coaxing it out. The same is true of metal, worked by hand until it holds a shape it was never forced into.

Nothing here is stamped from a mould at scale. Every piece that reaches your home was touched, individually, by someone who knew what they were making — and why it mattered to make it well.
